Design High-level equipment with high-tech components
Feature of the Ball Segment Valve:
A few characteristics that the Ball Segment Valve distinguishes itself from other valves are:
- Full bore opening to allow maximum product flow without any restrictions
- A long service life, even at high and low temperatures.
- Ability to open and close with static or flowing material
- Standard sizes from 4” (100mm) to 20” (500mm)
- Designed for full vacuum and pressure (on the upstream or downstream side of the valve)
- Customized design possible
- Materials of construction – Hastelloy C22, Alloy C276, Titanium, 1.4539, or others.
- Surface coatings, I.E. PFA or PTFE for sticky or corrosive products.
- Stainless steel inlet ring positioned on top of the valve, with sintered insert for: introducing gasses like nitrogen, compressed air, steam or liquids to inert the vessel, fluidize, dedust, granulate or aid discharge of bridging products.
- Internal CIP spray balls, either static or retractable.
- Water cooled or heated ball segment and body.
- CIP/SIP options available
- No dead space in product contacted areas
- High demand of quality for product contacted surfaces.
- 316 S/S material of construction standard (other commercially available materials can be quoted optionally)
Seal:
- Inflatable Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) seals which are highly chemically resistant (FKM, EPDM, also available)
- Safe operation at temperatures up to 230°C
- Inflatable seal reduces actuator torque requirements
Actuator:
- Special wiper design reduces product build-up on ball segment
- Fail safe options available
- Manually or Pneumatically actuated
- Proximity switches to indicate valve open and closed
- Accumulator for shutting safety, in the event of an air failure
- Electro-pneumatic positioning devices to control product flow
- Pneumatic actuator makes to meet a customers site standard
Flange:
- DIN
- ANSI
- Tri-clamp
- Customised
The valves can be applied to liquids, pastes to solid products and are vacuum and pressure tight in both directions. Compared to others, the Ball Segment Valve stands out because of the high quality and the perfect sealing system, that allows the valve to function up to a pressure of 10 bar. This is made possible because of the inflatable EPDM, FKM and FFKM Perfluoroelastomer Seals, which are compliant to the FDA regulations.
The Ball Segment Valve is operated by a pneumatic actuator, which is controlled by an integrated control unit. This control unit regulates the inflation sequences of the seal. An optional positioner can also be utilized to allow the Ball Segment Valve to operate as a dosing valve.
